Performance Art

I love Jack Johnson. His sounds are so smoothing and sultry that you can just melt into his music. This image is from one of his concerts and showcases him signing and playing the piano. I think I am just going to play some JJ now!

Genre Painting

I love animals, especially dogs. My dog Chewy is my best friend and I would do anything for him. This is why I chose this piece of genre painting because it depicts dogs so well. Half of them are sleeping while one is watching the bird hoping to catch it.

Cartoon

My favorite cartoon character is spongebob so i thought it was appropriate to showcase him. So much detail goes into creating hand drawn cartoons since they all need to look alike and be drawn over and over millions of times.

Cinema / Film Art

This is the movie poster for the new film "Hall Pass" that I want to see. It looks really funny and the story line looks decent. People forget how much artwork goes into producing a good movie poster that draws attention to the customer.

Commercial Art

This is an example of commercial art from the Rolling Stone magazine. It shows pop sensation Justin Bieber on the cover looking "tough" and not smiling. Everyone thinks he is a baby so this might be the message he is trying to get out.

NAACP

Since the NAACP awards are tonight i decided to post a picture of the trophy. The trophy is three dimensional and shows alot of emotion with the shirt off holding the world by the hands.

Andy Warhol

This week one of our art terms was artists signature. Andy Warhol was discussed because he has one of the most distinctive styles. It seems as though he likes to use bright hues but not shade them in all the way. He likes to also mix unusual colors together to create a distinctive image.
